Farmhouses of Hälsingland

Sometimes you wonder how many pleasant things can a postcard contains.
This one, received in May Alt RR, one got so many.

Firstly, it shows a UNESCO site: Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland (No. 1282)

Secondly, it's a MaxiCard (issued along with other four on 7 May 2015) with nice stamp and cancellation postmark.
Then, it shows something genuine and traditional, a piece of unique history.
Farmhouses of Hälsingland were added to the World Heritage list in 2012. They are large and elaborately decorated, sometimes housing several generations, whereas some houses were used only for festivities and others for sleeping. They reflect the prosperity of independent farmers who in the 19th century used their wealth to build substantial new homes with elaborately decorated ancillary houses or suites of rooms reserved for festivities. The paintings represent a fusion of folk art with the styles favoured by the landed gentry of the time, including Baroque and Rococo.
The 5 kr stamp (2015) combines two things: The right area (where the stamp value is written) shows an interior motif taken from Bommars farmhouse and the left wallpaper area shows an interior from Gästgivars farmhouse. The design was made by Nina Ulmaja.

2014 Christmas Angels

Another MaxiCard from Australia came last week (re-sent in a forum RR group). The window depicted on the stamp (and card) is in the apse chapel of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne. The building is both the tallest and largest church in Australia. Details of angels (faces, wings, clothes) are outstanding & bright. A true delight to eye.

The stamp (2,55 AUD) was issued in 31 October 2014 and the cancellation stamp shows two hanging bells.

100th Anniversary King George V stamps

This is my first stamped postcard from Australia. Received today. I've got a few before but were unwritten, in an envelope. This is a MaxiCard that shows a 1924 letter with King George V stamp. From 1914 to 1937 this was the basic letter postage stamp (with color variation). During this period of time 11,800,000,000 stamps were produced. Together with the King’s profile, the stamp design also featured a kangaroo, emu, sprig of wattle and the crown. The first day of issue postmark shows the King's symbols and the date:17 June 2014.

There are other 3 postcards with vintage postal themes in this series.

On the back there is a pre-paid mark as seen in image above.
